VOR-Checks

A VOR check is performed every 30 days, and can be done by the pilot.

They can be checked via:

  • VOT checkpoint: ±4° allowance
  • Radio repair station: ±4° allowance
  • VOR ground checkpoint: ±4° allowance
  • VOR airborne checkpoint: ±6° allowance
  • Airborne landmark check-point: ±6° allowance
  • Dual VOR system check: ±4° between the indicated radials

An entry into the aircraft's logbook must be made, including:

  • Date
  • Place
  • Bearing error
  • Signature
